Unblocking Writers Block

How to keep you writing, even when you don’t want to

I drive to the grocery store every Thursday, without radio or CD music. As I watch the traffic and scenery, my thoughts wander along an unexpected path. Today was no exception. By the time I returned home, I had developed a short story from a simple scenerio.

The “What if” question is powerful. And it helps unblock the blocks. What would be your responses to my What If questions? You may find that once your mind starts to answer, the scene takes on it’s own life, and soon, you are writing far more than just a few lines.

This is just a fun exercise I plan to use for myself, to keep writing and learning. I hope you find the exercise helpful and enjoyable.

Blessings,

Susan Parrott
